  • If you have to keep your car parked in the sun, consider buying some inexpensive car shades that you can place in your windshield and on your windows.
  • Clean leather seats regularly and in the right way!

How to Clean Leather Car Seats the Right Way

Did you know that there are products readily available at San Jose retailers that are made specifically for leather seat care? Even so, you’ll want to be careful not to get any cleaner into the holes of perforated leather. Always spray cleaner on the cloth you are using, and not the seat itself. Follow the steps below:

  • Gather all of your supplies: a vacuum cleaner, a cleaner made especially for leather, such as saddle soap, two microfiber cloths or a soft-bristled brush, and leather conditioner
  • Gently vacuum the seats, taking care not to rub any dirt in
  • Test the cleaner on a small spot that can’t be easily seen. If the spot is discolored, don’t use the cleaner
  • Spray the cleaner on a microfiber cloth (not the seat), and apply
  • Gently rub in the leather conditioner
